Pro-invest & Clean Energy Finance Corporation to Deliver a 5-star NABERS Hotel Portfolio
We are more than pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) for the rollout of one of the highest green-rated hotel portfolios in the ANZ region.
NABERS is a sustainability rating system which assesses the environmental performance of buildings on a one to six-star scale, with six-stars representing market leadership.
Our well-established partnership with CEFC first commenced with CEFC’s involvement in Fund I to assist in uplifting Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank’s NABERS rating to 5-stars, incorporating a host of sustainability initiatives to boost the asset’s efficiency. At Pro-invest, we design our Holiday Inn Express branded hotels to achieve a baseline 4.5-stars under the NABERS Energy scheme. With CEFC’s involvement in Fund II, our hotel portfolio will push the boundaries of the hotel sector, driving change within the realm of sustainable development and operations.
Further emphasizing our leadership in the matter of sustainability is the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) having established the Commercial Building Disclosure (CBD) Program for large office spaces to hold a NABERS rating when leased or sold. The COAG is exploring the opportunity to expand the CBD Program to include hotels, making it mandatory for hotels in Australia to obtain a NABERS rating and subsequently publicly disclose their respective ratings.
